“I was disappointed at the trade”- Danny Green reveals how he felt when the Lakers traded him away
Danny Green talks about what he felt when the Los Angeles Lakers traded him to the Thunder and says he was disappointed when he heard the news.
Danny Green was the in the headlines constantly, during the Lakers’ time in the Bubble. However, it wasn’t for the big shots he is used to making.
Danny Green built up a reputation with the Spurs where, if he was left open, it was an automatic bucket. Fast-forward half a decade later and he’s noticeably lost a step. His poor performances in the Bubble led to him being berated online by NBA fans.

This didn’t stop Green from contributing just enough to win his 3rd title, this time with the Lakers. Green believed he would be on the Lakers to run it back, but to no one’s surprise, the 33 year old was traded away from La La Land.
Danny Green on how he feels towards the Lakers trading him
When asked directly about his move away from the Lakers, Green said, “I wasn’t shocked. I knew the contract I signed for with the Lakers was going to be hard to maintain.”
He continued on by saying, “I built a home and I loved the area where I was living. Nobody likes to move. I think anybody would want to go back. At the same time, I’m not mad about it. I know exactly what I signed up for before I got here.”
Danny eventually said that there was absolutely no love lost between the Lakers organization and himself. He said it was a dream come true to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I wasn’t shocked that they were going to look for a guy like Dennis Schroder. Unfortunately, I had to be on the other end of it. But it’s part of the business. It’s how it goes,” said Green.
It is clear that Danny would’ve wanted to stay and run it back with the Lakeshow, but remains grateful for his time there.
