‘LeBron James is going to trade him’: Talen Horton-Tucker’s 2015 tweet mocking Delonte West and LeBron’s mom has gone viral
Talen Horton-Tucker wasn’t always a fan of LeBron James, as a tweet from 2015 clearly indicates about the Lakers youngster.
Drafted by the Lakers with the 20th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, THT’s stock is on the rise. He impressed onlookers in limited minutes against the Rockets in the 2020 playoffs. He’s backed that up with a couple of stupendous preseason outings against the Clippers.
The Lakers will definitely be looking to integrate him into the lineup and give him extended runs based on this evidence. The likes of Kyle Kuzma, Markieff Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope might be sidelined further to give him a chance.
What will happen during the season with the Lakers roster situation, however, isn’t our concern here. NBA fans always find a way to put their favorite players on the spot. That’s exactly what’s happening with Horton-Tucker here.
Talen Horton-Tucker roasted LeBron James and Delonte West on Twitter in 2015
2015 wasn’t a bright year for the Lakers faithful. They had to endure the likes of Robert Sacre and Ryan Kelly as starters of the franchise.
It is obvious that some of them were not in a good place at the time. So they resorted to mocking players and other teams. THT’s tweet is pretty much in line with those sentiments.

Of course, the 20-year-old was barely 14 at the time of the tweet. The way he roasts LeBron and Delonte West here is par excellence by any standards – especially those of edgy teenagers.
A player with LeBron’s draw and acumen for the game is not going to agonize over such little stuff with teammates. In all probability, the locker room is going to give him a little bit of a hard time verbally, but that’s about it. Still, it’s fun imagining that the Lakers have a youngster unafraid of trolling the best players on their team.
