“Looked like a Mike Tyson punchout”: Lakers’ LeBron James entertains boxing fans with reviews of the exhibition boxing match between Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather
LeBron James gives his take on Mayweather vs Logan Paul exhibition boxing match
While many boxing and combat sports pundits were aghast at the idea of ‘Youtube’ boxing, the concept introduced by Youtube sensations Logan Paul and KSI in 2018 has clearly caught on and might be here to stay.
Even though pure boxing and MMA fans have been averse to the idea of untrained guys with zero combat experience, like the Paul brothers stepping into the ring for these boxing exhibitions. It is hard to deny that many of these fights have managed to draw more eyeballs than actual professional boxing bouts.
Whether this is good or bad for the sport of boxing is a debate for later, nevertheless, this form of entertainment has undeniably caught on, with undefeated boxing superstar Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather going against Logan Paul in an 8 round boxing exhibition which took place last night.
While both competitors are notorious for their ability to promote and market themselves the result wasn’t a surprising one with the 5’8 boxing veteran making easy work of the towering youtube sensation.
What seemed like a David vs Goliath situation, was anything but that as the 44-year-old was easily able to dodge most of Logan’s slow punches and then punish him with sharp hooks and right hands for the duration of the fight.
King James weighs in on the Mayweather vs Logan Paul spectacle
Following the Lakers’ elimination at the hands of the Phoenix Suns in the very first round of the playoffs, LeBron James seemed to be in a jovial mood sharing his thoughts on the anticipated pay-per-view between Floyd and Logan Paul:
“Man this look like a Mike Tyson punch out!”

King James clearly saw what all of us saw and had a fun time trolling the absurd matchup which went exactly as expected.
After being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the very first time in his NBA career, the 36-year old seems to be taking the time off from competitive basketball relaxing and focusing on the promotion of his upcoming live-action movie “Space Jam – A new legacy”, which is set to release on the 21st of July. The movie is an adaptation of the original and extremely successful “Space Jam”(1996), starring the G.O.A.T Michael Jordan.
While the Lakers managed to grab the NBA Championship in the bubble last year, this season has been quite the opposite, with key players like Anthony Davis suffering from multiple injuries throughout the year and LeBron playing with a bad ankle through the series vs the Suns.
Lakers fans are now hoping the team takes advantage of the extra time on their hands to recuperate and return healthy as a squad to immediately get back in the race for another chip.
