"Stephen Curry Looked Really Good in the 2nd Half!": Steve Kerr Praises 8x All-Star While Talking About 3-Game Warriors Skid

The Golden State Warriors are in a tough spot. After winning five straight games at home, they’ve lost three in a row. To make things worse, they head out on a five-game road trip. So far this season, the Warriors have gone 3-16 from the road. Despite getting Stephen Curry back tonight, the Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns, playing without Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton, handed the 2022 Champions a 125-113 loss.

In his return after an 11-game absence, Stephen Curry registered 24 points and three assists. His brother-in-law, Damion Lee, torched the Warriors on the night he was given his 2022 Championship ring.

Lee scored 22 points and went perfect from the free throw line. His clutch free throws helped the Suns secure the game after a gritty 16-4 run by the Dubs in the 4th quarter.

Steve Kerr describes how Stephen Curry played in his return

Playing after missing almost a month of action, it was clear that Steph’s conditioning needed a bit of work. He was missing shots that he would earlier make blindfolded. Steph went 2 of 9 in the first half, scoring only five points.

In the second half, he looked like he was starting to find his rhythm. Curry scored 19 points, 16 of which came in the 4th quarter. Talking about his performance after the game, Steve Kerr said,

“Steph looked really good in the second half. He found his legs underneath him.”

It’s a good sign for the Warriors that Steph is back, and that he’s starting to look sharp again. As they head on a five-game road trip, the Warriors need their leader to corral the troops and lead them back to over .500.

Steve Kerr hopes tonight’s loss serves as a wake-up call

Winning games in the NBA is not easy. The Warriors got a first-hand dose of the same tonight. Playing a Suns team that lacked their three stars, the Warriors had hoped for an easy win. However, the result was far from what they expected.

Talking about the same, Steve Kerr hopes tonight serves as a wake-up call for the team and the coaching staff both.

Exactly at the halfway mark, the Warriors have a chance to turn things around. However, it’s easier said than done. Kerr and his troops would have to find ways to win, no matter what the situation and who the opponent is.
