“To Get Russell Westbrook At $4,000,000 Is A Huge Deal”: Paul George Raves Over Clippers Guard’s New Team-Friendly Deal
Last season’s trade deadline saw Russell Westbrook leave the Lakers for the Utah Jazz, after struggling for most of the time. But, after being bought out, Russ made a return to the City of Los Angels. Only this time, he traded the purple and gold of the Los Angeles Lakers for the blue and white of the Los Angeles Clippers. And, despite mounting pressure, Brodie displayed some fine form, leading the Clippers through the playoffs in the absence of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. These displays have now been rewarded as the Clippers have handed him a $ 4,000,000-a-year contract. A deal that PG13 raved about on Podcast P.
Westbrook’s new contract has him playing with the Clippers for at least one season. However, he could be playing in LA for a second year thanks to the player option in his deal. And, if he performs for them like he did last season, averaging 15.8 points, seven assists, and five rebounds a game, Clippers fans would love to see him extend his stay.
Paul George and Tyrese Haliburton are ecstatic for Russell Westbrook and his $4,000,000 team-friendly deal with the Clippers
Russell Westbrook made a huge impact when he signed for the Clippers last season. His presence completely changed how the Clippers played in the game. Despite lacking his previous All-star-level form, Russ was exceptional on the court.
As a result, Clippers decided to handle a $4,000,000 team-friendly contract. One that was a little on the lower side. However, despite this low offer, Russ was intent on returning to LA and playing for the Clippers, signing the deal.
But, while many are debating whether or not this was a good decision for Brodie and the Clippers, his teammate Paul George is ecstatic. PG13 raved about Westbrook’s new contract on his podcast, explaining how rare a personality Russ is and how huge it is to have him back on the roster.
“It’s dope man! I’m happy to have Russ back…he means so much to the team! Just that small stint he had with us bro…he changed the whole culture in that short of a time. And, his ability to do everything…he’s one of like the rare personalities…rare human beings in the league…100…stand up dude. But, to get him at $4,000,000 that’s a huge deal!”
It’s clear to see that signing Russ to such a team-friendly contract is a big deal for the Clippers. And, it is a deal that has left many shocked. Especially those who believe the 2017 MVP deserves much more.
Shaquille O’Neal was shocked to hear Russ had settled for an $8,000,000 deal
Russell Westbrook’s team-friendly contract is a huge boon for the LA Clippers. But, Russ’ acceptance of this deal left many surprised and shocked. Even, Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t hide his shock, as he agreed with and shared do and a clip of Stephen Jackson ranting about it.

Clearly, this season will be one where Westbrook looks to show his mettle, hence the decision to accept a low contract offer. One where he will hope to leave an impact on the league. And, with that, who knows? Perhaps it will lead to bigger and better things in the future.
