Stephen A Smith is without question the most recognizable name in basketball punditry. And while his incendiary takes and loud criticism aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, no publicity is bad publicity anyways.

For a public figure of his stature, Stephen A is ever present with his traditional suited-up look. It has almost become an integral part of his entire public persona. So, naturally, the pundit doesn’t prefer changing up his look in front of the cameras at least.
But of course, there are the occasional exceptions. The First Take host isn’t immune to such exceptions either and did make one in spectacular style too. The change in look was courtesy of the designing brain of one of the NBA’s famous fashionistas, Dwyane Wade too.
The Sheriff of Wade County is renowned for making quite a splash in the world of fashion and is considered one of the NBA’s “fit kings”. So, it was only fair that the exceptional occasion of styling Stephen A’s look fell to Wade’s mercy.

Stephen A Smith mentioned this was the first ever instance of him letting someone style him.
The First Take host clearly is a fan of his own appearance. Opting to never change it or take fashion opinions is clearly a sign of the same. But when DWade is an option as your designer, maybe there is room for consideration. Although Stephen A admits to not knowing why he even went for it.
“I have never ever ever in my career, put myself at an athlete’s mercy in anything. Why I decided to do this, I have no clue” revealed Stephen A Smith about the events that unfurled.
Dwade didn’t let the opportunity pass him either. In this edition of ‘Revenge of the Jocks: Athlete Makeover’ the Flash hooked Wade up with a flashy look. Red pants certainly weren’t something one expected to see on Stephen A. This wasn’t the first time these two figures came together in a “fashionable” manner either.

When two individuals with such distinct senses of fashion converse, the conflict was bound to come out at some point it appears. Flash took Stephen A to the cleaners on his own show.
“Stephen A. came in with the suit that he had in the closet already,” said Wade as he thanked Molly Qerim for raising the fashion quotient of the studio. In Wade’s opinion, Stephen A clearly wasn’t dressed for the occasion. A role reversal would make for quite some entertainment and “drip” fails for certain. Watching a Chicago icon make it work in those Stephen A suits might just be iconic. Make it happen, Stephen A!
