Justin Jefferson vs Jaire Alexander: Packers Cornerback is Still Unapologetic For ‘Fluke’ Remark Against Jefferson Post Sunday’s Victory
Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander did not have a great time when the Minnesota Vikings thrashed his team in Week 1 this season. Adding to that, the man he was supposed to mark, Justin Jefferson, got the better of him all night, sparking a rather sour feeling in his mind. Alexander quickly called it a “fluke”, for which he was made fun of by many. Only to prove them all wrong 16 weeks later.
Sunday’s game between the Packers and the Vikings was a must-win for the Green Bay outfit, and the players did not let their team and fans down. Especially Alexander, who had an added point to prove against Jefferson. A prolific receiver, Jefferson suffered the entire night, only able to make one catch. Alexander hounded his opponent, even taunting Jefferson with a griddy after denying stopping a pass.

Talking to Tracy Wolfson of CBS, he says, “I was able to follow him. I was able to go to his side all game and I’m the type of person, I’m going to match intensity so that’s what I did all night. I mean hats off to him. He’s still in my top-three receivers, he’s still a great receiver, but I’m confident in myself and I said what I said and I meant what I said.”

Jaire Alexander stops Vikings onslaught to gift Packers a shot at playoffs
Alexander played a pivotal role in ensuring that the Packers have a fighting chance going into their final game against the Detroit Lion. The Packers, the Lions, and the Seattle Seahawks are all tied at 8-8 and are fighting each other to secure the last wildcard spot in the NFC. The Packers have a slight edge, but it will not matter for long.
For the Packers to make the playoffs, they need to win against the Lions. A draw or a loss would put them out of contention. With the Seahawks facing a weaker team in the Los Angeles Rams, expectations will be on them to win. Though, if both the Packers and the Seahawks win, the Packers will qualify based on their superior strength of victory (.420 compared to Seattle’s .397)
The final game week for the regular season will be very exciting, especially at Lambeau Field. If the Seahawks win and put the Rams out of contention, expect the Rams to give their full to spoil the Packers’ chances of qualifying. Either way, a tense night awaits both sets of fans next week. Will we see fireworks on and off the field?
