Dallas’ four-game winning streak was snapped by a shocker on Sunday. The Cowboys responded after the Jaguars had stormed back from a 27-10 deficit to take the lead in the fourth. In retaliation, Trevor Lawrence wheeled Jacksonville into position for Riley Patterson’s 48-yard field goal, which resulted in overtime.

The Dallas Cowboys appeared poised to do something they hadn’t done in 15 years: qualify for the postseason in consecutive seasons. However, thanks to their 40-34 overtime defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, they were forced to wait at least another week.
The Jaguars fell behind 27-10 before going on a 30-7 run to win. By intercepting a deflected Dak Prescott pass, safety Rayshawn Jenkins secured the victory with his defense. He returned the interception 52 yards for the winning touchdown. The defense needed a stop to save their offense after they went three-and-out at the beginning of the overtime period, so the play was incredibly crucial.
Trevor Lawrence impresses in OT win against Cowboys
It was Jacksonville’s first victory outside of its own conference since the Giants in the 2018 season opener. In coach Doug Pederson’s first season, Jacksonville has broken a number of losing streaks, including a 20-game one.
Rayshawn Jenkins returned a pick six in overtime which ultimately allowed the Jaguars to script a famous victory. After the game, Lawrence spoke with Erin Andrews and when asked about what he had to say about Rayshawn Jenkins’ heroics in OT, Trevor stated “It’s incredible… On a football field, there aren’t many things that will make your jaw drop, but that play… just sums up the day!”
Lawrence also stated that although the boys were a bit short in the first half but after that, all departments performed very well and that is how they clinched the win. He also stated that the game is not over until it is over and concluded by saying that he is very proud to be a Jaguar and what his team did today.
Lawrence performed admirably. He 27 completed passes for 318 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
