The UFC has already kicked-started the 2023 year with a bang with its two events. The first event was headlined by Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov in which the former won via unanimous decision.
UFC 283, the first pay-per-view of the year, took place this past weekend with two title fights. The pay-per-view saw Deiveson Figueiredo take on Brandon Moreno for the fourth time for the flyweight championship and the bout was on by Brandon Moreno.
Moreover, the card was headlined by a light-heavyweight championship bout between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill, and the highly anticipated light-heavyweight clash was won by Hill. Let’s take a look at what’s ahead.
When is the next UFC event?
The UFC will return in the first week of February with a stacked card scheduled for Sunday, 5th February. The card will have 12 fights in total and will be headlined by a highly anticipated heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak.
Derrick Lewis, who has a professional record of 26-10, has been on a two-fight losing streak. On the flip side, Sergey Spivak has a professional record of 15-3 and is undefeated in his last two fights.

However, it is worth noting that even though Lewis looks like he is past his prime at the age of 37, his octagon experience can certainly prove to be a deciding factor in his upcoming fight against Spivak.
That said, it will be interesting to see if Derrick Lewis can fall back into the winning zone. Or if Sergey Spivak can build upon his two-fight winning streak and take it to three.
When is the next UFC pay-per-view?
UFC’s next pay-per-view, the UFC 284, is set to take place on February 12th. The UFC will be heading to Australia for this one. The pay-per-view will be headlined by Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski. Australian UFC champion ‘The Great’ will be moving up a weight class to fight for the lightweight title.
