Dan Hooker is wary of Conor McGregor's 'who the f**k' is that guy' jibe

Dan Hooker does not fancy a verbal back-and-forth with Conor McGregor. The fighters will be on the same stage at UFC 257 press conference.

One of the protagonists of the Co-main event of UFC 257 Dan Hooker is apparently excited and at the same time anxious about the pre-event press conference. On Thursday, January 21 the fighter will share the dais with Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and his opponent for the event Michael Chandler.

While Hooker is fully focused on Michael Chandler but, makes it known that in the conference he will have his attention on McGregor, who in the past has targetted his opponents and other fighters present in the setting.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, the Hangman explained he is looking forward to the presser and would be cautious of indulging in a conversation with Conor McGregor.

“To be honest, I’m a fan of the sport. It’ll be pretty surreal to be sitting up with those guys at such a huge press conference like that.

“I don’t put too much thought into it. I’m not a guy who goes away and practices my lines in the mirror or anything like that. I’m going to take it as it comes. Ninety-nine percent of the focus will be on Conor and what he’s going to do. And what he’s going to say.”

“You’ve got to be on your toes,” Hooker said. “You don’t want to get ‘Who the f**k is that guy’d?’ or something like that. He could chuck you in the can in one line.”

Although a scuffle with McGregor is subjective, what’s certain is an in-ring battle with former Bellator Lightweight champion Michael Chandler, and with only a few days remaining for the ultimate day to arrive, Hooker expressed his views on the fight.

“It’s going to be pretty obvious because the game is pretty obvious,” Hooker said. “He needs to put me on my back, he needs to back me up and get on the inside. If he can’t do that and he can’t do that early on, he’s going to start getting in trouble. I think by the end of the first round it’s going to be pretty clear how this fight is going to play out.”
