'I think it’s gonna be that guy': Ciryl Gane Reveals Who He May Fight Next

Ciryl Gane reveals who he may fight next. The Fighter secured a career-defining victory over former Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 256.

Ciryl Gane, who is unanimously seen as a future titleholder, burst into the Top 10 in 2020. Gane picked up a thumping TKO win over the former Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 256, and since then his name has started to reverberate in the Heavyweight circuit.

Gane is currently No.7 in the 265-pound weight section, and while he only competed once in 2020, yet he rose through the ranks. Now with fully recovered from the aftereffects of surgery, that he had to undergo in 2020 in order to cure a collapsed lung, he is now determined for a giant leap.

Ciryl Gane Reveals Who He May Fight Next

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Gane conveyed what he thinks is ahead for him and also named the opponent that he might be facing next.

The 30-year-old claims, he is ready to take on anyone, however, when it comes to a rational outlook then he stated that a fight with Jairzinho Rozenstruik makes sense.

“This makes sense,” Gane said. “He is not booked, so we tried to do it for January if I’m not mistaken. But, with Christmas he needs time, so we’ll see. I don’t know when exactly, but I think it’s gonna be that guy.”

He added, “There aren’t that many people above me. There are fights already booked and Rozenstruik isn’t, so I think it’s probably with this guy. But if you ask me who I want anyone. I’m on my way, so let’s go.”

With 2020 not panning out the way he intended it to be, Gane is optimistic about 2021. In the same conversation,  he expressed his desire to fight again soon and is outright confident that he is close to reaching the top.

“I’m really close to the top, and I feel good. I’m on my way, and I’m confident. So yes, I want to fight and maybe in March because I think for Abu Dhabi it’s a little bit hard to book me. So, maybe in March. I’m ready. I’m on my way, and I want to fight because I’m really close.”
