Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov dies at the age of 57, following multiple health issues, related to COVID-19.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father and one of the trainers of Khabib died at a Moscow Hospital today. He had fallen ill at the end of April, and was battling for his life since then. In May, Khabib Nurmagomedov confirmed about his father’s critical state, following a positive Coronavirus test.

But from then many developments took place, when he underwent a heart surgery, and though his condition was precarious, he was reacting positively to the treatment. During a span of one year, this was his second heart surgery.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s health condition

Several reports suggest that, senior Nurmagomedov’s health deteriorated following the complications of the COVID-19 disease, and suffered another heart attack. Before eventually succumbing to death. He was 57.

However, any official statement from the hospital or from the Nurmagomedov family is yet to appear.

But according to details from family friend Ramazan Rabadanov. (Published by RT Sport)

“Abdulmanap suffered two strokes, in his heart [a heart attack] and brain,” he told Russian outlet Championat.

“They managed to treat his heart, but not his brain, so he didn’t emerge from a coma. 

“The situation was too serious, it was already too late. 

“The doctors did everything they could, they even tried to connect him with the president [Putin], but his condition was too serious.” 

Recently when he was recovering Khabib left a heartfelt message for his father, who often accompanied him to the ring. He was also considered as a legendary coach across several MMA disciplines. We extend our deepest condolences to Khabib and his family.
