UFC Vegas 7 Main Card kicked off with an incredible display, where Daniel Rodriguez made an unbelievable comeback in the match to ultimately top his opponent via TKO. It was a welterweight bout, and both the opponents were not initially booked to face each other, however after the weigh-ins the fixture was made as a result of an 11th hour adjustment.
What Happened In The Match?
It was a pacey start and both men were from the outset eager to not maintain any distance. Dwight Grant perfectly improvised upfront to drop Daniel Rodriguez with a clear strike, he implied pressure with a flurry of punches in the follow-up of the heavy blow. Dwight was all over Rodriguez, and was on the verge to claim a first round victory. However, Rodriguez did well to endure the beating, which convinced Chris Tognoni not to make the stoppage. After which, Rodriguez managed to weather the storm, and escaped the troubled waters. But what happened after can be defined as a complete travesty, as in a complete turnaround Rodriguez landed a huge left, followed by a couple of rights, to ultimately prevail as the winner.
What’s even more surprising is that all this took place in the first 2 minutes and 24 seconds of the match, the round which may very well turn out to be “The Round of the Year”.
