Recent rumors suggest that Warzone 2 is set to bring back 1v1 Gulag back. It will replace the 2v2 Gulag we had previously in the game.
As fun as the 2v2 Gulag was (sarcasm), it is better for everyone that the 1V1 Gulag comes back in the game. Raven Software is bringing back the 1v1 Gulag, as per popular request.
However, the players were generally tired of the 2v2 Gulag as well. There are multiple reasons for that. Let us discuss why the 2v2 Gulag was not well-received by the fans.

Warzone 2 to Bring Back the 1V1 Gulag; Fans Relieved
Aside from the general chaos of the 2v2 Gulag, the minigun-wielding NPC does NOT make it fun or any less anxiety-filling to fight for your life. Therefore, to the fan’s delight, Raven plans to remove the 2v2 and replace it with a 1v1. Warzone 2 is set to receive a massive overhaul. This overhaul is a community-inspired overhaul that will be incorporated from Season 2.
That is partly why the second season got delayed till February 15th. The 2v2 Gulag is unsuitable for the game since the second player has to pick up the slack if a person dies. The 1v1 Gulag offers no attachments; if you die, it is your fault.
That is how it should be for the most part, and fans also wanted it that way. Since the release of Warzone 2, the fans have been begging for the classic Gulag instead of the 2v2 one.
We will get more news of the general update next week since most features and new additions are unknown. Raven will provide updates about the Gulag and much more towards the start of next week, so all we need to do is wait and see. One thing is for sure; the 1v1 Gulag is much better for the game than the 2v2 one.
