The Rock reportedly planned to make WWE return this year itself

The Rock reportedly planned to make WWE return this year itself. The Brahma Bull is rumored to be scheduled to face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania next year.

It has long been speculated that the Rock will face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 38. With the event scheduled to take place next year, it is expected that the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment will begin showing up in the promotion close to the event. However, it seems that he may appear a lot sooner than that.

In fact, the Brahma Bull may grace the WWE Universe with his presence before the end of this year itself. If reports are true, the former WWE Champion will make his much awaited return in the coming months to hype up one of the promotion’s biggest show of the year.

The Rock reportedly planned to make WWE return this year itself

According to Andrew Zarian of the the Mat Men podcast, the current plan is for The Rock to be at this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.

“Hearing from a Source that The Rock is currently planned to be at this year’s Survivor Series.

“You’ve got a big show in a big building and you’re trying to tell it out. I mean who better than […] the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. He is definitely Walking Tall, but he was in Get Shorty. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ is expected for Survivor Series. I feel confident that is the plan.”

It is also important to note that WWE Survivor Series 2021 will mark the 25th anniversary of The Rock’s WWE debut.

The WWE had a tribute show at the event last year dedicated to the Undertaker and his 30 years with the promotion. It is possible that they may do the same for the Rock; perhaps even use it to build towards the eventual fight between him and Reigns.

The Rock last appeared on WWE programming on SmackDown’s 20th Anniversary in October 2019. His last match was at WrestleMania 32 when he hit Erick Rowan with only his finishers and then he got the pinfall; literally a six-second contest.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
