Triple H World Heavyweight Championship

Triple H recently announced the introduction of a new world championship on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The newer version of the World Heavyweight Championship will now serve as the world title on the brand that does not feature Roman Reigns in it. But who came up with the idea of bringing in another world title to the picture?

Triple H is firmly in charge of creative. Both Vince McMahon and WWE CEO Nick Khan have reiterated this several times since Vince’s return to the WWE. But there have been talks of Vince overruling his son-in-law occasionally.

So whose decision was it really to introduce a second, technically third, world championship to the show?

Triple H or Vince McMahon, who decided to introduce a second WWE World Championship?

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, Vince McMahon was not involved in the decision to revive the World Heavyweight Championship back into existence. That was a call made by Triple H. The WWE Head of Creative is eager for both brands to have their own world champion.

However, with Roman Reigns nearing the historic 1000-day landmark, it is hard to take the titles off of him at the moment.

With the Draft on its way, Triple H has found a way to bring in another world title in the picture.

The secondary title on RAW has served as the main championship in the absence of a World title and could have continued to do so. However, The Game prefers the setup and structure heading into the draft, which will begin this Friday on SmackDown.

Who will become the Inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

Per WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport, Seth Rollins is leading the race to be crowned the first ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Another name in the mix is one-time Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura. Cody Rhodes is not being considered due to his involvement with Roman Reigns.

There are several talent on the roster who are popular enough to give the title a credible start. However, Rollins would definitely be a great pick. After Reigns and Rhodes, he is arguably the third biggest star on the show.

Interestingly, Rollins was also the inaugural NXT Champion and was involved in the match to determine the first ever Universal Champion.

Could he add yet another feather to his cap? At the moment, this appears to be more than likely.
