WWE release Jack Gallagher following rape allegations. The Cruiserweight is the first wrestler to be released among those named in recent allegations.

The entire wrestling industry has been shaken by the speaking out movement. Several female wrestlers in the industry have opened up about incidents where they had been taken advantage of in the past. This has resulted in a lot of names being exposed.

The implications of the movement could be huge on the wrestling community. How much will it change the industry remains to be seen but the effect of sharing incidents regarding sexual abuse has come to light with the release of Jack Gallagher by the WWE.

David Starr’s caused a storm when she wrote to a victim on twitter that her best friend had been raped by WWE Cruiserweight Jack Gallagher. She wrote: “We don’t know each other but Jack Gallagher raped one of my best friends. I’ve been angrily sitting on that for a long time but she hasn’t been ready to tell her story. I believe you; you are so brave.”

The WWE have since announced the decision to part ways with the wrestler.

They wrote on their website:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Gallagher (Jack Claffey).”

It is worth nothing that they did not wish him the best in his future endeavors.

He is the first in the line of many who have been exposed recently.
