WWE Reportedly Planning A “Hell In A Cell Match” At The Upcoming Royal Rumble Premium Live Event
After the November 27 Survivor Series WarGames, for the first time in recent years, WWE will not deliver any PPV for almost two months. WWE’s next premium live event is Royal Rumble which will take place in San Antonio, TX, on January 28, 2023. However, WWE is devising to make its upcoming event one of the best of recent years. It is being reported that fans can expect to see a Hell in a Cell match at Royal Rumble 2023.
Since the regime change, there have been speculations that WWE is planning to scrap many of its gimmick shows. In fact, at the post-Survivor Series WarGames press conference, Triple H admitted they will be re-thinking the future of shows like Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, and Elimination Chamber.
Now, according to a recent report, there are chances of a major gimmick show getting merged into WWE’s next pay-per-view.
WWE planning to include a Hell In A Cell Match at the 2023 Royal Rumble
This year’s Hell in a Cell event took place at the Allstate Arena, Chicago on June 6. A show, that featured seven matches, was widely applauded for the classic main event between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.
However, as per the recent report of Wrestling News, WWE is planning a Hell in a Cell at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV. Though, no information was revealed as to who will be facing who. Taking to its Twitter account, Wrestling News wrote this:

Well, if that turns out to be true, this will be the first pay-per-view to take place at the Royal Rumble. Moreover, it could also be an indication of WWE moving away from Hell in a Cell as a full-fledged show.
Royal Rumble 2023 is breaking records even before it has taken place
Triple H-led WWE has been setting records when it comes to bookings of shows. Events like WrestleMania 39, Extreme Rules 2022, and the recent Crown Jewel have seen enormous growth in their bookings. Likewise, WWE’s upcoming Royal Rumble also broke the record of its 36-year history.
At the investor’s conference call in November, WWE revealed that Royal Rumble 2023 created a new record for the largest gate. Surpassing the $5M mark over a weekend, the event broke its own record for 2017.

Nevertheless, with rumors like the next Royal Rumble having 40 superstars instead of 30, the event appears to be promising. However, whether WWE will include a Hell in a Cell match, is yet to be seen.
