Former WCW Superstar Says the Bengals and the Bills Were “Rewarded” After Damar Hamlin Almost Died on the Field

In a shocking turn of events, the NFL suspended the football game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals on January 2 after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field due to a cardiac arrest. The 24-year-old player was resuscitated once on the field. After he was rushed to a hospital, he was resuscitated once again. His condition remained critical after he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit. Thankfully, on Wednesday Night, Hamlin’s health reportedly improved as he awakened in the hospital after two days. 

In the wake of the accident on the field, many sports personalities gave their take on the incident. Fox Sports pundit Skip Bayless even argued that NFL suspending the match was not a good move and that the show was supposed to go on. Unsurprisingly, he faced backlash from fans and was forced to apologize. Similarly, a former WWE superstar made a controversial statement regarding the game that has riled up the fans. 

Disco Inferno offers his controversial take on Damar Hamlin’s incident

In case you didn’t know, Glen Gilbertti, better known as, Disco Inferno was a mid-card wrestler in WCW. He had a decent run in the company that lasted between 1995 to 2001. While his wrestling career was easily forgotten, Gilbertii’s shocking remarks about the football game may remain indelible.

Inferno joined Skip Bayless and offered his appalling take on Damar Hamlin’s incident. He took to Twitter to state that the Bengals and the Bills were “rewarded” after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

Although Inferno is not as popular as Bayless, he was still vehemently criticized by Twitter users following his cold remarks. One Twitter user even urged him to delete his Tweet.

Damar Hamlin’s unfortunate injury saw the world of sports come together and pray for the 24-year-old star. After recovering from his cardiac arrest, Hamlin took to his social media for the first time after his collapse to thank the fans for their love and prayers.

The game between the Bills and Bengals was initially suspended and then canceled altogether. After reportedly waking up in the hospital on Wednesday night, his first question to the doctor was whether The Bills won Monday’s game.
