Lakers Roster : How will LeBron and the Lakers line up with Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder and Wesley Mathews?
The Lakers have done themselves a solid by adding Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell as complementary pieces to LeBron and Anthony Davis.
The free agent moratorium began yesterday at 6 PM ET, and a number of roster moves have already been made. As the reigning champions, the onus was on the Lakers to keep their championship roster alive and kicking. They’ve done exactly that by adding the two best sixth men from the past season.
Another crucial addition they made was to sign Wesley Matthews on a 1-year, $3.6 million deal yesterday. The Lakers depth chart is now once again championship-caliber, leaving them to fill out the roster with fringe players.
How will LeBron and the Lakers line up next year?
The Lakers’ current depth chart looks like this:
Guards – Dennis Schroder, Alex Caruso, Talen Horton-Tucker, Wesley Matthews
Forwards – LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis (likely)
Centers – JaVale McGee, Montrezl Harrell
This means they have around $20 million in cap room to fill out the rest of the roster, given that Anthony Davis will receive a max contract. Harrell is signing for the full MLE.
Free agent Montrezl Harrell has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, agent Rich Paul of @KlutchSports tells ESPN.

GM Rob Pelinka will have a couple more tricks up his sleeve in order to give LeBron James the requisite talent to work with for the next NBA season. The Lakers will, in all probability, start Caruso and Mathews while bringing Schroder off the bench.
Harrell is another bench scorer whom the Lakers will be looking at to deliver the goods. The center is one of the most dominant interior scorers in the league, which more than makes up for his defensive lapses at times.
