“I know a lot of guys who don’t want to play”: Wizards’ Bradley Beal breaks his silence on whether or not he will play in the All-Star Game this year
Wizards guard Bradley Beal has been chosen as an All-Star starter for the first time ever, but he is not sure if he would play the game.
The Wizards have a glimmering light in the darkness that surrounds their season this year. They have managed to string three wins in a row, and now have improved to a 9-17 record, and climbed up to the 13th spot in the East.
Leading the way is their star guard Bradley Beal. He has been leading the league in scoring and is averaging 32.8 points per game. All this hard work has landed him a spot in the All-Star Starters list for the East.

Bradley Beal is not sure if he would play the All-Star Game
The All-Star Game this year is surrounded by a lot of confusion and mixed feelings. While getting nominated as an All-Star is a big achievement, the health and safety of the players is the topmost thing on their minds right now.
A lot of key players, including LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, highlighted the list who were against having an All-Star Game in these times.
Newly selected All-Star starter Bradley Beal is also not sure whether he would play in the game this year.
“I’m very curious. I know a lot of the other guys don’t want to play. I’m kind of in that boat, too. In my opinion, [with] the pandemic and what’s going on in the world and us trying to be safe – granted, I know we have protocols and I’m not saying we won’t be safe – but the ultimate experience of the weekend isn’t there.”
“It’s mainly for the fans, for entertainment. That’s kind of [gone]. I think it will be crazy, but us as players will have to decide what it is we’re going to do. As of now, we’re playing.”
Whether Beal plays or not, he deserved this nomination and should enjoy it to the fullest. The All-Star reserves would be announced on Tuesday, February 23. The All-Star team drafts would take place on Thursday, February 25 between Kevin Durant and LeBron James.
