Nadal enters the final of the China Open 2017
Well, the World Number one tennis player, Rafael Nadal took on the World Number three tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals of the 2017 China Open. Although the Spaniard had a tumbling first-round victory over the Frenchman Lukas Pouille, nevertheless, he was domineering throughout the tournament.
The semifinal match took off with the Spaniard maestro serving in the opening set. Nadal was playing with his full momentum in the first set and did not lose his focus throughout the set.
After holding his serve in the opening game, the applause echoed in the National Tennis Stadium in Beijing as Nadal hits his first winner of the semifinal in the second game. Nadal broke Dimitrov’s serve and took a 3-1 lead over the Bulgarian.
The Bulgarian tennis ace, Dimitrov was at his best and received break points at 5-2, but the Spaniard slammed a brilliant backhand cross-court to make it deuce. Grigor broke Rafa’s serve and took the set score to 5-3. With both players executing some exemplary tennis, but however, Nadal’s dominance clinched him the first set 6-3 in 35 minutes of time.
Nadal broke Dimitrov’s serve to love in the opening game of the second set. Dimitrov breaks the Spaniard in the second set 3-2 with a brilliant winner shot in a long rally. A breath-taking set being played as Nadal’s unforced errors earned Dimitrov a 4-3 lead and remarked his comeback in the second set.
Dimitrov playing some tennis with a huge level of confidence and with Nadal creating some unforced errors, the Bulgarian tennis ace running back and forth on the Diamond Court takes the second set 6-4 and takes the semifinal to the tiebreaker.
The Spanish maestro kick-started the third set with a 4-0 lead. Dimitrov striving against the Spaniard breaks Nadal at 4-1. With storming forehand and backhand strokes the World Number one Spaniard triumphs over the World Number three Bulgarian 6-3 4-6 6-1.
The top-seed Rafael Nadal is geared up to face the Australian tennis ace Kyrgios or the young German talent Zverev in the final of the 2017 China Open.
