Dak Prescott Surprisingly Ranks #4 (Ahead of LeBron James, Tom Brady) On Forbes Top Ten Highest Paid Athletes Of The World List
Dak Prescott signed a lucrative extension with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. In fact, Prescott got such a good deal that he is the 4th highest paid athlete in the world.
All the world class athletes who you’d expect to make the list were on there. Conor McGregor topped the list with players like Messi, Ronaldo, and LeBron James all making the top five.
However, it was incredibly surprising to see Dak Prescott up so high. His new contract was massive, but did it really put him over the likes of LeBron and Tom Brady? Apparently it did. Here’s a look at the full list:

Dak Prescott Ranks #4 On Forbes List, How Is Dak Prescott Ahead of Tom Brady and LeBron James?
Forbes uses a lot of metrics to put out this list for us. It includes not only looking at a player’s salary, but also prize money, bonuses, and of course endorsement money.
The biggest reason that Dak Prescott ranks so highly in this year’s list is because of the massive signing bonus he accumulated as a part of his big extension.
The overall contract was worth $160 over four year, but it came with a $66 million signing bonus which Dak was able to cash in on right away. This is what pushed him above the $100 million mark and into the top four as Forbes put it:
“It pays to be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. Prescott, whose season was cut short last year due to an ankle injury, inked a four-year, $160 million deal in the offseason, which included a $66 million signing bonus to push him into fourth on the Forbes list.”
Being this high on the list is surely a good sign for quarterbacks going forward. As we see more and more players sign lucrative deals, it’s only a matter of time before NFL players can compete with their NBA counterparts in terms of salary.
It is important to note that the Dallas Cowboys are also the most valuable franchise in all of sports right now.
“The outlook is bright for the quarterback of the world’s most valuable sports team, whose endorsement portfolio already includes Sleep Number, 7/11, and DirecTV,
Prescott also brought in an extra $10 million through endorsements:
“In addition to being handsomely rewarded as the quarterback of the most valuable franchise in sports, Prescott raked in another $10 million in endorsements.”
