#5 – The Blade of Olympus
Now I know what you are thinking, how can the most powerful weapon in the franchise be #5? It was only available as a rage option in GoW 3, while in GoW 2, you could only unleash its full potential during New Game Plus. But it was a powerful weapon, true to its nature and legacy.
#4 – The Arms of Sparta
The Arms of Sparta were a reminder of Kratos’s General past, even more so than the blades. The Arms of Sparta had lower mobility, a brilliant shield, and potent damage, making the weapon very strong. Plus, it can double as a throwable with multiple combos, including a shield bash, a spear barrage, and multiple spear thrusts.
#3 – Draupnir Spear
The newest addition of Spear weapons includes the Draupnir spear. Kratos is no stranger to a spear, and it showed. The combos were explosive, fast, and deadly. In addition, you could also explode the tips of the spear after firing it, causing additional damage; what else do you need?
#2 – Leviathan Axe
The first Ice-related melee weapon in the GoW franchise, this weapon changed the first GoW game and gave us a new favorite. The damage is potent, the combos are fast, and the ice helps with bonus damage and looks cool. As you go on upgrading it, the runes get more noticeable. Brilliant design!
The Best God of War Weapon – The Blades of Chaos/Exile/Athena
Any form of the blades is the best weapon in GoW; why? Because that is the series’ signature weapon, it’s the foundation, the cream of the crop. Fast combos with fire damage, cool animations, plus Kratos’s screams when he is using them; talk about manly. However, in our opinion, the most potent version of these weapons are the Blades of Athena from GoW Ghost of Sparta, GoW 2, and GoW 3.
