"I'm ready to be a Laker": Richard Jefferson hilariously jokes about reuniting with LeBron James amidst NBA free agency

LeBron James’ former Cavs teammate Richard Jefferson recently tweeted about wanting to join the LA Lakers.

Jefferson and King James share a great relationship. The two have been former teammates as well during the 2016 Cavaliers championship. They have always shared mutual respect as individuals.

The former player and now ESPN analyst has always been an advocate for James’ talent. Earlier, this year Jefferson was stated calling the NBA superstar the best scorer of all time.

“LeBron James,” Jefferson said confidently when asked who he thought the best scorer ever was. I hear exactly what you’re saying, and people might disagree with me. But understand this, the greatest scorer is not only, its consistency, its longevity, and its amount.”

The two have been often seen engaging in some banter, especially during post-match interviews.

The former champion is one of the most entertaining personalities. The 41-year old played 2 seasons with LeBron James as a Cavalier and even won an NBA championship during his stint.

Coming off the bench, Jefferson averaged 5.6 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 0.4 SPG on a 45.2% shooting from the field during his 2 seasons with the Cavs.

After playing 17-seasons in the NBA, Jefferson retired post the 2017-18 season. Following this, the veteran has been having a successful career in broadcasting with ESPN.

Recently, Jefferson tweeted about being ready to join forces with LeBron James in LA.

This has got a lot to do with the Lakers having a Big 3 especially, with the arrival of former MVP Russell Westbrook. The official account of ESPN was quick to respond on Instagram, posting that the 41-year old had agreed to a veteran’s minimum contract.
