'LeBron James was the MVP last season': Skip Bayless doesn't like Jared Dudley pushing Lakers star Anthony Davis for MVP

Skip Bayless found it fit to give props to LeBron James when he could use it as an opportunity to undermine his Lakers teammates.

Jared Dudley recently re-signed with the Lakers for the second straight season as one of their veteran glue guys. During media availability, he egged on Anthony Davis to make a concerted push for the MVP trophy. He said Davis had the potential to win the accolade himself.

Speaking on today’s episode of Undisputed, Bayless said he would have voted for LeBron James as the 2019-20 MVP. According to him, the one-sided nature of the voting in favor of Giannis was totally undeserved.

Skip Bayless asks Jared Dudley to encourage LeBron James for MVP rather than Anthony Davis

According to Bayless, LeBron still has the ability and fire in him to win a 5th MVP trophy and lead the Lakers to the number 1 seed again. This is despite the King entering his age-36 season.

Given Skip’s past track record in terms of demeaning LeBron’s achievements and downplaying his skills, this is likely just his ploy to sow some discontent in the Lakers camp.

LeBron has always been acknowledged as the best teammate the players he’s played alongside have had. It would be extremely out of character for him to become anything of a detriment to his teammates’ success on either an individual or team level.
