Jalen Ramsey

Jalen Ramsey has been the subject of a viral video in which Bears receiver Darnell Mooney badly beats him on a route. Well, Ramsey just decided to fire back. Jalen Ramsey was heated at all the Bears fans coming at him and put something interesting up on Instagram.

The Rams star cornerback is one of the best in the game, but that doesn’t shield him from the wrath of NFL fans. After the Bears went and got a “real” quarterback this year, the hope was that second year receiver Darnell Mooney would finally flourish. After all, he did go toe-to-toe with one of the best cornerbacks and won often.

However, with the horrible quarterback play that Chicago witnessed last year, Mooney never saw some of his moves take him anywhere. He was often overthrown, and that was exactly what happened when the Bears played the Rams last year.

Mooney got the better of Ramsey a number of times, but the ball never found his way. Ahead of the week 1 rematch between the Rams and Bears, Chicago fans were clamoring for things to go the same again.

What Did Darnell Mooney Do To Ramsey? How Badly Did Mooney “Route Up” Ramsey?

In case you’re wondering, Bears fans haven’t been coming after Jalen Ramsey for no reason. Mooney was special, and some of his footwork and technique is to be admired. Just watch this play:

This was the case throughout the year, in fact. It’s why so many Bears fans have resorted to calling Ramsey out because they truly believe he was the victim of bad quarterback play, which to be fair is more than true. Here’s a whole compilation of Mooney being overthrown if you want to see:

Jalen Ramsey Eager For Bears-Rams Game In Week 1

After all the shade thrown at him this offseason, Ramsey is more than hyped to play against the Bears in week 1. He is a top tier cornerback, and he’ll want to reassert his dominance.

If Justin Fields starts, like Bears fans want him to, there’s no question that he’ll have even more incentive. After all, Fields is supposed to be the quarterback savior for the Bears.

So, with nobody to overthrow Mooney, and just Ramsey to defend him, who wins? Well, we’ll get the answer to that in a Sunday Night Football Prime Time Event.

It should be fun watching the two go against each other again. Mooney caught three catches for 40 yards in that game while Ramsey had himself an interception too. Mooney hasn’t commented on any of the clips of him beating Ramsey in coverage, so there’s no beef between the two players. Ramsey is still welcoming the matchup though.
