Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens was crucial. Not just for the playoffs, it also gave us a slight glimpse into what might come if the Bengals lost. Bengals fans went to the game armed with posters mocking the NFL. Though, it seems the NFL wasn’t happy about it and intervened to have them removed. Or that’s what Jim Foster, a longtime Bengals fan, thinks.

Foster was at the Bengals vs Ravens game at the Paycor Stadium, in the midst of all the fans openly criticizing the NFL. According to him, security at the stadium came out to take down some of the posters that were directly aimed at commissioner Roger Goodell.  Foster says the security were pretty nice about it, and that makes him think the NFL had to have issued the order directly.

Speaking to FOX 19 about the incident, he says, “We think NY called and had our banner taken down. The security folks were very nice to us. We are good. MOVING ON TO PLAYOFFS WITH NO COIN FLIP!…. “They were very nice about it. NFL directive… Don’t want to take away from this win.”

Cincinnati Bengals triumph at home to avoid controversial coin flip scenario

Bengals fans have every right to be upset with the NFL, owing to the controversial coin toss resolution passed earlier this week. However, fans will definitely set that aside for the time being as they focus on welcoming the Ravens once again to Paycour Stadium. Only this time, the stakes are much, much higher.

The Ravens’ loss on Sunday can be attributed to the absence of their star man and QB Lamar Jackson. Even with all the contractual problems the Ravens management has been giving him, he has performed spectacularly. Effectively, he’s established himself as one of the best in the league, and a potential Hall of Famer.

That being said, both teams will no doubt bring their full strength to the playoff game. The Cincinnati Bengals need to get through the playoffs to get another shot at the Super Bowl. They would want to make amends after losing it last year. This time, however, they have the in-form Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs to contend with. Any of these three teams can potentially win the AFC, and maybe even the Super Bowl.

Will the Bengals make it through to the big stage? Or will they fail to realize the dream they were so close to achieving last season? We wait and see.
