NFL Playoff Prediction: Insider Rich Eisen Predicts ‘Possible’ Upsets For 2022 Wildcard Round
As the NFL comes to its most spectacular stage of the season, fourteen teams are set to battle it out for ultimate glory. The Super Bowl is just a few weeks away and as the NFL community gears up for the fireworks; the athletes are also prepared to take center stage. As the postseason kicks off this weekend, popular NFL host Rich Eisen predicted his big upsets for the wildcard round lined up for the weekend.
As the regular season came to an end, the Philadelphia Eagles finished with the #1 seed in the NFC while The Kansas City Chiefs took pole position in the AFC. Both teams will have a bye this weekend as the remaining 12 teams look to advance to the playoff round.

Wild-card weekend upset alert
Rich Eisen took to the Rich Eisen show to put out his big upsets for the weekend. He also mentioned, the weather played a huge role in his predictions. As he listed his predictions from least likely to most likely, Eisen’s list definitely raised a few eyebrows.
At least likely he had the powerhouses of the NFC, the 49ers. Predicting poor weather over the weekend, Eisen wasn’t too sure about the 49ers being able to weather the Seahawks. While the Seahawks haven’t been very impressive this year, Eisen lacks confidence in quarterback Brock Purdy to guide his boys to victory on a rainy day at the Levi’s.
Next up he had the Chargers set up for a loss. As the Chargers travel to play the Jaguars, Eisen mentioned their previous meeting where the Jaguars beat them by 31. He believes the young Jacksonville side has what it takes for this upset. The Chargers, at 10-7 finished the regular season with a win more and a loss less than the Jaguars.
Rich Eisen cancels the big boys of the NFC
As he progressed with his list, Eisen moved his attention back to the NFC. He went on to warn the Vikings that their matchup was going to be nothing easy with the Giants. Even though the Giants finished third in their division, they managed a wild-card spot. However, Eisen believes that if the 13-4 Vikings, who have been dominant all year long, don’t pull up their socks, they are in store for a huge upset.
As he concluded his list, Eisen took a different approach to things. He had the same team listed at No.1 and No.2 for the upset of the season. Eisen has put his money on Tom Brady to put one past America’s team. He believes the Tom Brady supremacy will prevail yet again as the Buccaneers host the Cowboys in Florida. He knows not to count out the legendary quarterback despite his average season. The Bucs have been quite underwhelming in comparison to the Cowboys this season.
However, these are just predictions, which could be lined with a bit of bias. As the weekend comes around, the NFL community will be glued to their seats. Only time will tell how these teams perform in their respective games.
