“Un-Retiring Expert” Tom Brady Once Assisted Hollywood Star Cameron Diaz in Making a Comeback to Movies After an 8 Year Break
NFL legend Tom Brady is truly a master of all trades. Though, not just with the ball, it seems. Throwing game-winning touchdown passes, absorbing some of the most brutal hits known to mankind, and managing a growing business empire. TB12 seems to have it all. Though, by his own admission, he is also good at one other thing: un-retiring.
This skill of his was brought into the spotlight last year when Jamie Foxx recruited Brady in an attempt to help Cameron Diaz make a comeback to Hollywood after an 8-year break. It seems Diaz was very glad Brady was brought in, who at that time had just come back from retirement himself. Safe to say, she had a better “un-retirement” life than he did, given he went right back a year later.
Tom Brady hopped on a call with Cameron Diaz to help her with “un-retiring”
Jamie Foxx released an audio clip on Twitter to announce a new movie in collaboration with Netflix back in June last year. In the audio clip, one can hear him talking to Diaz about her feelings about coming back to the movie scene. In an attempt to soothe her nerves, Foxx then brings Brady into the call, much to Diaz’s surprise and relief.

“I feel excited but, I don’t know how to do this, you know?” Diaz says in the clip. When TB12 comes in, he says, “I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to un-retire. I’m relatively successful at un-retiring”. Though the act seems staged, it is undoubtedly an amusing way to announce Diaz’s comeback and Foxx’s new movie.
The un-retirement expert did not stay un-retired for very long
While he does claim to be relatively successful at un-retiring, the history books paint a different picture. Tom Brady had the worst season of his career after he came back from retirement. Not just on the field, but in his personal life too, as his wife of 13 years, Gisele Bundchen, filed for divorce midway through the season. All in all, a pretty rough return from retirement.
However, now that he’s back to enjoying his retirement life, there is no chance he is coming back to play. With all his ventures growing exponentially, he simply doesn’t have the time and the energy to re-dedicate most of his year to playing football. Plus, he will be missing a lot of the family time he is enjoying right now. Safe to say, TB12 is done playing football, this time for good.
