Despite not fighting for almost two years now, Conor McGregor surely knows how to make it to the headlines. Even though ‘The Notorious’ is not active in the promotion, he is a topic of discussion even for the fighters who are not from his division.

That being said, the former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor recently got mocked by the middleweight fighter Kelvin Gastelum for his UFC setbacks on social media. Gastelum had a rather unusual way to take a dig at the UFC superstar by comparing him to Caitlyn Jenner.

What did Kelvin Gastelum say about Conor McGregor?

The former UFC interim middleweight title challenger Gastelum took to his official Twitter account and poked fun at McGregor’s UFC losses. The last time @TheNotoriousMMA won a fight, Caitlyn Jenner could still pee standing up,” Gastelum wrote and tagged the former UFC champion.

It is important to note that it was the Irish UFC superstar who initially started the beef with Gastelum. He posted a picture of Gastelum’s recent injury on Instagram and talked sarcastically about it.

Earlier, Gastelum clapped back at ‘The Notorious.’ But many fight fans deemed his response ‘too weak.’ However, even this dig at the former champion from Gastelum didn’t impress fans as seen in the comment section.

However, as suggested by the middleweight fighter, it is true that McGregor hasn’t had a good UFC run in recent times. The former dual weight champion has only won one fight after 2016 from a total of four bouts. However, this might change when ‘The Notorious’ returns to UFC this year.

McGregor’s coach doubles down on his UFC return in 2023

The Irishman last fought in July 2021. He lost the bout after suffering a gruesome leg injury. McGregor, ever since, has been working on his UFC return. It was earlier said that he will return in 2023.

Interestingly, the head coach of SBG Ireland has recently doubled down on this statement in an interview. McGregor’s coach stated that ‘The Notorious’ is in negotiations with the UFC, which is going well. Hence, there is a huge possibility that the former champion will make a comeback in 2023.

Previously, even McGregor stated that he will be entering the USADA testing pool in February 2023. That means he comes clean. We might see ‘The Notorious’ back in action in the fourth quarter of the year.

Who do you guys think McGregor will face on his return? What is your reaction to Gastelum’s dig at McGregor?
