Jimmy Crute joins the queue to challenge Anthony Smith, Wants to face him in February 2021
Jimmy Crute joins the queue to challenge Anthony Smith. The Brute sees February as the ideal time to face the Lionheart.
One of the brightest young prospects in UFC, Jimmy Crute apparently wants to have a quick way up to the top. The 24-year-old challenged the main event winner of the UFC Vegas 15, Anthony Smith.
Crute is another fighter who entered the UFC scene through Dana White’s contender series, however, on the basis of an impressive run he has cemented his spot in the roster.
The Australian fought twice in 2020 and on both occasions won the performance of the night bonus. Currently he holds the 13th position in the Light Heavyweight rankings, and wants to surge ahead, as he intends to face the No.6th in the division Anthony Smith next.

The Brute took to Twitter to first congratulate Anthony Smith on his incredible first round victory over Devin Clark and then issued a call out of sorts for the Lionheart. He even asked followers to give their opinion on the proposed match-up.
Smith vs Crute 5 rounds in February. Who wants to see that? Also congrats to @lionheartasmith great performance

Prior to the concerned fight night Anthony Smith was struggling to get a positive result and was in disarray after his two lost outings in 2020, however, with this win the 32-year-old has redeemed himself.
Smith’s convincing win drew Paul Craig’s attention, who did not wasted any time in expressing desire to compete against Smith. In the post-event presser Smith also showed interest in going up-against Craig.

So, it would be anybody’s guess who Anthony Smith would face next, but if Jimmy Crute and Paul Craig turn out to become the frontrunners then Crute might get the edge as he already has a registered win over Paul Craig.
