After months of waiting, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou appears to have secured a massive boxing contract. After contractual disputes with management, the Cameroonian MMA fighter departed the UFC on a sour note. Ngannou was considering his alternatives after leaving the UFC, one of which was boxing. It is now trendy for MMA athletes to venture into the world of boxing in search of a lottery-style payout. Ngannou looks to have landed one of such opportunities.

For a long time, ‘The Predator’ has been requesting that the UFC include a boxing provision in his contract. But it didn’t work out. Nevertheless, Ngannou has a name for his boxing debut now that he has left the company, and it is none other than heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury has a date and location

Despite his departure from the world’s biggest MMA organization, former UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou is making significant progress. Having already signed a lucrative contract with the PFL, Ngannou now is about to receive one of the greatest paydays of his career.

According to Mike Coppinger, a well-known ESPN journalist, ‘The Predator’ is going to face one of boxing’s greatest stars, Tyson Fury, in his debut According to Coppinger’s Instagram post, this highly awaited heavyweight battle will take place in October 28th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

However, Coppinger added in the post that it is yet to be verified whether Fury’s heavyweight belt will be on the line. He further disclosed that the heavyweight bout’s rules and rounds are yet to be determined.

Is this Ngannou’s win?

Francis Ngannou has been a prominent heavyweight name in the world of MMA for a long time now. The Cameroonian fighter gained a name for his ferocious striking and unreal punching power among fight fans.

However, with his fighting prowess, his battles with the management and low fighter pay issues were also a tale of its own. He ultimately decided to leave the UFC early this year. Many, however, condemned his move, warning him of the dangers of failing outside of such a large corporation.

Despite the noise, Ngannou has taken a significant step toward his dream. And MMA fans would undoubtedly rejoice to watch him perform alongside one of boxing’s finest stars. However, it will not be all roses for Francis Ngannou, as Tyson Fury will present him with the toughest test in the sport.
