Peyton Manning Finds a Way to Link All Eight Quarterbacks Remaining in Contention for This Year’s Championship
As the NFL 2022 season comes to its last moments, just eight teams remain in contention. Eight remaining teams also means eight quarterbacks in limelight. With a lot on the line, these eight quarterbacks are all set to etch their names in NFL history.
Getting to the divisional playoffs is no cake walk and all these young QBs have shown, they are here to stay. With all of them having performed through their skins all year, a common factor among all 8 of them comes to light. They have been counselors at the Manning Passing Academy, headed by Archie Manning, father of Peyton Manning and his brother Eli.
The Manning Passing Academy has become the most prestigious destination for a budding football player. While only the elite talents make it as counselors, the MPA is open to all for their camps. All these talented powerhouses have been counselors through invitation during their college careers. An invitation from the MPA as a counselor, in most cases, means the athlete will head to a professional career.
Peyton Manning’s Passing academy has produced greats
All eight of these QBs have come through the ranks. Peyton Manning, one of the greatest to ever through the pig skin, is a key stakeholder at the academy along with his brother Eli Manning. Both brothers have been dominant in their teams during their time. Getting in with the Manning brothers is also a huge deal for young college athletes, as they get a lot of first-hand knowledge from the greats of the game.
Archie Manning recently got vocal about this situation as well. While he could take credit, he was even honest about the situation. “We’d love to take credit for all their success, but they were pretty good when we got them,” said Manning. While all eight were counselors at the camp during their college days, Dak Prescott even attended as a camper.
Another exciting fact for the MPA would be that of the four teams that got knocked out in the wild card week, 3 of them had MPA alumni as the playmakers for their respective teams. 11 out of 12 quarterbacks in the playoffs have been MPA counselors, which is a crazy stat to have. Only Tom Brady missed out, who apparently wasn’t very good at the time.
The MPA definitely can’t pick whom to root for at this stage. However, they will be super proud for being a part of these guys’ journeys.
