Virat and ABD partnership in IPL: Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers highest partnerships in IPL full list
Virat and ABD partnership in IPL: The two legendary batters were part of many magnificent Indian Premier League partnerships.
Chennai Super Kings opening batters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway’s 182-run opening partnership against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Indian Premier League 2022 match had reminded fans of legendary Royal Challengers Bangalore pair Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
A 107-ball stand saw Gaikwad and Conway registering the highest IPL 2022 partnership, fourth-highest opening partnership in the history of the IPL and the highest partnership between two batters playing for CSK.
As far as the third criteria is concerned, Gaikwad and Conway surpassed a match-winning unbeaten 181-run opening partnership between Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis (vs Kings XI Punjab in Dubai two years ago).
In what was the ninth-highest partnership in the history of the IPL, Gaikwad and Conway had the time to further step up in the list of highest IPL partnerships.
Virat and ABD partnership in IPL history
Talking about Kohli and de Villiers, the dangerous pair represented Royal Challengers for 11 years in a row between 2011-2021. In the process, Kohli and de Villiers powered themselves to score maximum runs for a batting pair in the IPL. The ongoing 15th season of the IPL is the first one after IPL 2010 that Kohli and de Villiers aren’t playing for RCB in the IPL.
Both the right-handed batters were part of a total of 10 100+ partnerships in the IPL. Kohli and de Villiers, who have the best two IPL partnerships to their name, had scored two out of four 200+ IPL partnerships back in the day.
