Max Verstappen Taken to Court For Ballsy Move Endangering Lives of Pedestrians

The summer break had the entire F1 community missing the high-speed on-track action. Turns out, Max Verstappen was missing it too. While leading an unchallenged charge on the grid, Verstappen might have taken it a step too far with his side quest on Monaco’s streets.

A recent video stormed the internet as Verstappen took his $2,700,000 Aston Martin Valkyrie to the streets of Monaco. Albeit hardcore, Verstappen is seen pushing his beast to the limit. Filmed by Kelly Piquet’s cousin, the video was soon on every fan’s screen.

Additionally, Verstappen is also seen confidently maneuvering the console on the hypercar while driving with one hand. For a driver who made an entry into F1 before getting a driver’s license, the Red Bull champion probably knew what he was doing. However, that is no argument in the court of law.

Max Verstappen could go behind bars over reckless driving

According to Nice Matin, Verstappen could get prosecuted for “endangering the lives of others.” It is also mentioned that Verstappen goes a daring 120 kph on a 90 kph road.

Going viral has its curse as a specialized cell, the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie, tracks down these kinds of videos broadcasted on social networks.

While going to jail would be extreme for a place like Monaco, it is still on the books for the driver. However, a closer look at the France traffic laws likely point toward a fine. Since Verstappen was 30 kph over the indicated limit, he would have to pay a €135 [$147] fine instead. Surely, this was not a stunt Verstappen would have wanted to pull before returning to the grid for his home Grand Prix.

Verstappen goes viral again

Driving in one of his four Aston Martins, Verstappen flexed his Valkyrie, and rightly so. Sharing history with the car designed by Newey, he once said, “To be one of the first guys to drive an insane car like this was really exciting.”

Straight out of his first run, Verstappen was enthusiastic. “It looks super aggressive. It was a lot of fun out there.”

While the Dutchman went viral for showing off his necklaces and cars, he now becomes the butt of the joke with fans playing house.

No stone was left unturned, no Red Bull big shot was spared.

Some even went so far as to say that Verstappen would enjoy his championship victories from behind bars.

Verstappen’s fate remains unknown as the driver gets ready for a grand weekend at the Dutch GP.
