“Gave up $30,000,000 to Play With Tom Brady”: Antonio Brown Again Brags About Being the ‘Righteous Man’ Among Ungrateful Bucs
Antonio Brown continues to make controversial statements about his former teammate Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a recent appearance on Tyreek Hill’s podcast, Brown claimed that he gave up $30,000,000 from the Raiders to play with Brady and the Bucs.
Brown recently shed light on why he isn’t grateful for the opportunity that Brady gave him. According to Brown, the tension between him and Brady started after the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory in February 2021. Brown’s contract expired after the season. During the negotiations with the Bucs, Brown claimed, “My agent, Ed Wasielewski, is getting called, cursed out by Tom Brady over ‘Why is he pushing back for the contract for scraps?'”
Antonio Brown says he refused $30 Million from the Raiders
In a recent video appearance on the Tyreek Hill podcast – ‘It Needed To Be Said’, Antonio Brown proudly revealed that he turned down a $30 million deal to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. AB states, “So, I call Mark Davis as a smart man I am because you know I’m a good guy. I could have just said, ‘Yo my back hurt’ and just got the 30 million”.

Brown’s reasoning? The wide receiver’s unwavering desire for a championship title superseded financial gain. He said, “So, I got to the Raiders and I’m like ‘Yo Mark, I love everything about here, I love money but this not championship culture. This not the environment I want to be in. I love you. Appreciate the 30 million but already got 30’. “

During the podcast, Antonio Brown expressed his appreciation for the Raiders and team owner Mark Davis. However, he explained that as a player, his ultimate goal was to become a champion. Having already achieved financial success, Brown yearned for the right environment to secure a Super Bowl victory. The WR went on to state that although he gave his all for the Bucs and played with a low salary, he never really received the kind of appreciation from the people in power at Tampa.
Antonio Brown’s NFL earnings
Having started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown had the opportunity to amass substantial wealth. Unfortunately, his off-field behavior and legal issues caused disruptions and prematurely ended his deals. Still, the star WR’s bank accounts have been regularly blessed with enormous transactions.
Roped in by the Steelers in 2010, Brown first secured a 3-year, $1.2 million rookie deal. After registering staggering numbers, he was then able to get a 5-year, $41.9 million extension deal. Post that, he was given 4-year, $68 million in 2017 by Pittsburgh, which unfortunately ended in 2019, when the WR decided to go to New England.
Brown earned $10.5 million for his one year stint with the Patriots. After that, he got a massive deal from the Raiders worth $50.3 million, which also ended prematurely, as Brown joined the Bucs in 2020. After getting $1.6 million for his 2020 season, Antonio again signed a one year deal with Tampa, this time worth $3.1 million. However, that also didn’t end well, as Mr. Brown got kicked out of the team midway after his shirtless shenanigans.
