Kyle Van Noy

Kyle Van Noy signed with the New England Patriots in free agency after being let go by the Miami Dolphins. Van Noy had gotten into a snap with his new QB Cam Newton and was quick to address how he planned to repair their relationship.

At the end of the Patriots win against the Dolphins in early 2020, things got a little chippy between Cam Newton and some of the Dolphins defenders. One of those defenders was Kyle Van Noy

Cam and the Dolphins defenders got into a physical scuffle and Newton had to be pulled away by his teammates. Newton said that the talking and attempts to grab his chain by Dolphins players “kind of got under my skin” over the course of the game.

Kyle Van Noy said he hopes to have dinner with Cam Newton

In a recent interview, Van Noy said, “I feel like me and Cam have similar mindsets and that’s to win. I’m excited to work with him. I’ve heard nothing but good things. I think everybody is going to be excited after hopefully, we have dinner — I’ll pay for it — and just get to know each other better.”

“I think it’s a good rivalry. Everybody knows everybody. People have played on both sides. So it’s going to be good.” added Van Noy.

Kyle Van Noy threw subtle shade at former HC Brian Flores

Kyle Van Noy had a previous stint with the Patriots from 2016-2019, being a part of one of the most feared linebacker units. Van Noy now returns to a defensive unit that includes some old friends like Jason and Devin McCourty and Donte’ Hightower, whom he says he talks to “every day.” With the band back together, Van Noy says the Patriots have the pieces to be a top-five unit in the NFL.

During his time with the Patriots, Van Noy and the others had current Miami Dolphins HC Brian Flores as their LB coach. Van Noy signed a massive 4 year $51M dollar contract with the Dolphins in 2020 but was let go after only a year. When asked about the difference between Brian Flores the LB coach and Brian Flores the HC, Van Noy replied with “No Comment”. Thus revealing that his split from Miami was anything but amicable.

Kyle Van Noy said he’s pleased to return to New England and has all the reasons to be. Van Noy succeeded that most in Bill Belichick’s system. And with the return of fellow LB Donte’ Hightower, and Jason and Devin McCourty, the Patriots could very really threaten to be one of the best LB units in the whole league.
