Odell Beckham Jr. wants to “create a petition” on Sha’Carri Richardson’s Olympic ban
Odell Beckham Jr. recently spoke out against Sha’Carri Richardson’s Olympic ban. Here’s a look at what all he said:
Richardson was recently suspended for 1 month, which effectively bans her from taking part in the 2021 Olympics.
Odell Beckham Jr. wants to “create a petition” that would allow Richardson to participate in the Olympics
It is clear the OBJ strongly disagrees with the ban that the young athlete is facing. Here’s what he said:
I’m not watchin unless u can run… can we create a petition ?!? We are ALLLLL WAITIN on u!!!! https://t.co/7kgvMEo89X

Furthermore, other NFL athletes also voiced their opinions on the ban recently. Richardson recently won the women’s U.S.A 100m finals at a time of 10.86 which directly qualified her for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
She previously ran a lightning time of 10.64 in the semi-finals. This was one of the fasted times ever recorded in history.
Odell Beckham Jr. also provides alternate ideas which would allow her to participate in the Olympics
In addition, he also proposed alternate ideas in support of Sha’Carri Richardson. For example, he suggested that she enter the event alone.
U should at least run by yourself or sumnnnn!! This ain’t right https://t.co/7kgvMEo89X

This means that she would attend the Olympics as a separate individual and would not represent the United States of America.
To add on, this basically means she would be competing under the Olympic flag. Instead of the American anthem, the Olympic anthem would play instead.
Why was she banned from the Olympics?
She was banned because of failing a drug test. She tested positive for marijuana. The 21-year-old claimed that her use of marijuana was a way to cope with the death of her mother.
In a recent interview, she claimed she was in “a state of emotional panic”. Here’s what else she said-
“I didn’t know how to control my emotions or deal with my emotions during that time.”
Richardson was one of the clear favourites to win the Olympic gold medal.
